'Wild Zebra'

Two weeks ago Jess (UCA volunteer from SA)and some teachers took a group of Bethany Home children to KL to watch "Wild Zebra", a dance performance by Shanghai Ballet dancers. The organisers of the show gave the group tickets as part of their support for Bethany Home, and to raise awareness and financial support from the public to help Bethany Home as well as other centres for the disabled people in KL.

Kyalie's at Bethany Home

Kyalie (from NSW) has arrived at Bethany Home to begin a 3 month placement. Bethany Home in Malaysia is a centre from children and young people with physical and intellectual disabilities. She will contribute really well, especially since she can speak some Malay words with the children.

Kyalie joins 3 Australian volunteers - Jess (from SA), Rex and Myra, and 2 German volunteers: Daniel and Julia. Three new volunteers from Finland will start by the end of August, and 1 German and 2 Swedish volunteers in September. So Kyalie will be exposed to not only the multicultural people of Malaysia but also the international community of volunteers in Bethany Home. It will be an enriching experience for her and for the other volunteers as well.
